Pirate Assault Rifle | Journey to Foundation | Texturing

I had the exciting challenge of creating an alternative texture for this assault rifle, diving deep into the creative possibilities of Substance Painter. This project was a great opportunity to push my skills and bring a unique texture concept to life with a story-driven approach.

Inspiration
The texture design draws inspiration from the shape language of the deserters and pirate factions in Journey to Foundation, giving the rifle a rugged, lived-in feel that matches their world.

Practice and Experimentation
To take it a step further, I set up and lit the asset in Unreal Engine 5. Experimenting with dynamic lighting and composition really helped elevate the storytelling and atmosphere of the piece.
